I originally started this site to share my passion for food, health, and nutrition and as an outlet for me to share and test new recipes. It has been a side project of mine during my time in New York, and now, as my husband and I leave our jobs and life in the city for a year of adventure and exploration I also hope to share some of our stories, travel tips and culinary discoveries from our journey.

Food, family and friends have always gone hand-in-hand for me, and so many great memories have been cooked up in the kitchen. My upbringing on a tropical fruit farm in Hawaii has instilled a respect and awareness for fresh and nutritious foods, and has cultivated a desire to inspire others to live a healthy lifestyle through cooking. I have had the wonderful opportunity of attending the Natural Gourmet Institute of Health and Culinary Arts, which has trained me in gourmet, health-supportive & holistic food selection and preparation. This training, along with my own passion and desire to learn more about food and nutrition, has allowed me to provide you with scrumptious tid-bits of information throughout this blog, hopefully encouraging wellness within.

It is far too easy to get caught up in the commotion of daily life, and cooking can provide a wonderful little escape.  A time to laugh with and enjoy those you love. A time to slow down, create something wholesome and real, and honor where it all comes from and the ones we get to share it with.
